Open Hoop Night at Memorial School Gym Beginning Tuesday, December 1st, the Recreation Commission will once again be offering OPEN HOOP for interested players of all ages!
Every Tuesday, from 9:00-10:30 pm, players age 35 and under are welcome to play
Every Thursday (first session December 3rd), from 9:00-10:30 pm players age 35 and over are welcome to play
This is offered free of charge to all interested players and the program will run through the end of March, 2010. Check the Recreation Commission web site for any further details. Players are asked to be responsible and keep the gymnasium clean and left in the exact same condition as when you arrive.
Youth Recreation Night(s) January & February 2010 The Upton Police Department in partnership with the Upton Recreation Commission is excited to offer open recreation nights in January and February for Upton and Mendon youths. In its second year, this program will allow for recreation in Blackstone Valley Regional Technical High School's two gymnasiums and cafeteria on the following Saturday nights: January 9, 2010 January 16, 2010 January 30, 2010 February 6, 2010 February 13, 2010 February 20, 2010 The program is designed for youth ages 8-15 to have the opportunity to enjoy indoor recreation such as basketball, floor hockey and dodge ball in a safe and fun environment. In addition to athletics, we will be adding a variety of activities in the cafeteria. There is no fee for this program and pre-registration is not required. Parents are required to sign an injury waiver form for use of the school. Injury waiver forms will be available at the door or can be down loaded from In order to provide an age appropriate environment, we have broken the age groups into the following time slots: Ages 8-11 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM Ages 12-15 from 8:00PM - 10:00PM If you have any questions or would like to volunteer with this program please contact School Resource Officer Carl Ambrosino at (508)529-3200, Chief Michael J. Upton Recreation Commission Presents: Adult Yoga In the Memorial Elementary School Library $60 for an 10 week session!! Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m. Febuary24th - May 5th (no class April 21st) In this unique class we will move in flowing postures using the breath as guide. We will stretch, strengthen, and relax as we take part in this all levels class. This class will help increase flexibility and tone muscles in a safe and effective way. Modifications will be provided for beginners, as well as ways to challenge postures for the more advanced students. You will feel energized and relaxed as you leave this great class offered by Lara Wahl. Come take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn yoga right here in your community! Bring a check to class made out to the Town of Upton. This is an all levels yoga class. Please bring a yoga mat, water, comfy clothes and a smile.
