The Upton Council on Aging (COA) is a department of municipal government, authorized under Chapter 40 Section 8B of the Massachusetts General Laws. The law states that a Council on Aging may be established for the 'purpose of coordinating or carrying out programs designed to meet the needs of the aging in conjunction with programs of the Office of Elder Affairs'. Members of the Upton Council on Aging are responsible for identifying the needs of Upton's elders, to develop, implement, and evaluate senior programs and activities as well as coordinate existing services in the Elder Service Network to enhance the quality of life of elders in our town. As well, The Upton COA is responsible for educating the community on elder issues and to advocate on behalf of elders.

The COA meets the first Monday of each month at 9:30 am. New members are always welcome. The COA appreciates feedback, new ideas, and suggestions.
